Digg is spying on us!

I knew It! Digg is a very spohisitcated method to spy out our hobbies, thoughts and so on. Now a new Digg Blog has confirmed that itself.
Seriously, Digg has now a live-search function like metacrwaler.com or lycos implemented. Watch what other Diggers are tagging. Have fun!

Ever wonder what other users are digging, submitting, commenting on, or reporting? Now with Digg Spy v2 you can spy (in real-time) on all site-wide activity.

How it works –
After loading, Spy automatically polls digg every few seconds for the latest site- wide activity. The Spy page is then updated via AJAX to show the latest happenings.

Choose what you want to spy on –
In the upper right corner of Spy are four checkboxes. These checkboxes represent the type of activities you can spy on:

The new page icon spies on newly submitted or promoted stories.
The thumbs up icon spies on newly dugg stories.
The thumbs down icon spies on stories as they are being buried/reported.
The message icon spies on new comments posted to a story.

If you deselect any of these icons Spy will stop looking for that type of activity. (Example: deselecting everything but comments (yellow icon) will only spy on new comments)

Choose the areas you wish to spy in –
The three tabs represent the different areas within the site you can peer into:

‘spy on all stories’ – Selecting this tab will display activity on both the front page and the upcoming digg queue.

‘spy on queued stories’ – Selecting this tab will display activities performed in the queue. The queue is the repository for all newly submitted stories. If you want to help promote up-and-coming stories, this is the place to visit/watch.

‘spy on front page stories’ – Selecting this tab will display the current activities on promoted front page stories."

Catastropy in New Orleans gets more chaotic

What happens in New Orleans is not funny anymore. The scenes we see on TV are really sad. People there are desperate or frustrated. The mass of people that need to be evacuated grows and the water in the town stays at least for 1 month. Today there were ca. 20.000 refugees at the Louisiana Superdome and they had been transported by busses from the disaster area but people that are trapped in the town have heared the t the superdome was the best place to get a place in the busses. So today there are around 30.000 people around the superdome trying to get help.

I hope the evacuation will be rapidly proceeded and water, medication and food. I pray for the souls that have to suffer this gigantic storm Katrina.

There's nothing The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy could not explain.
Well realworld Prototype only explains certain places for tourists, but that's OK.

I had the same idea in fact. They only combined a GPS System and the apprpriate Gelocations with useful info from a travel book agency.

Madcat's New Year Resolutions

I promise to learn harder. I want to repair my beloved Macintosh too. Going out more often is on my list too. Happy New Year everybody.
Meine Vörsätze fürs Jahr 2005. Mac reparieren und mehr lernen. Gemütlich ausgehen und Spaß haben. Die Liste könte noch endlos weitergehen, aber das wars fürs erste. Ich will ja nichts versprechen das ich nicht halten kann.

How to backup your content from Blogger.com

Well the complicated answer was in Blogger.com's Help .
So it's possible but 10 steps are too complicated for me and sound risky.
The more general approach ist to use Blogging tools.
Unfourtunately w.bloggar doesn't offer a backup function so i have to save post by post. Not very practical in the future.
And there's the raw kind. Just fetch the HTML with a webspider like httptrack.
Any suggestions ?

"Howl's Moving Castle" kommt voraussichtlich im Juni oder Juli 2005 in die deutschen Kinos.
Das ist einer der letzten Anime Filme von Hayao Miyazaki und den Ghibli Studios. Miyazaki zählt zu den interessantesten Anime Zeichnern Japans und hat mit dem letzten Film Spirited Away seinen Ruhestand angekündigt.
"Howl's Moving Castle"
Die gesammelten Zeichnungen und Mangas von Hayao Miyazaki sind übrigens bis zum 13.März 2005 in Paris zu bewundern. Es lohnt sich.
